New World Resources N.V. (“NWR” or the “Company”), Central Europe’s leading hard coal and coke producer, is pleased to announce the publication of its first Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) Overview. This report is the first step towards the Company’s full compliance with CSR reporting.
“The scope and significance of our socially responsible activities and projects exceeded what could be contained in a single chapter of the Annual Report and Accounts 2010. The publication of a separate, dedicated review, demonstrates NWR’s on going commitment to socially responsible and sustainable conduct, which plays an integral part of the Company's business strategy. The CSR Overview covers the successes we achieved in 2010, the positive contributions we made to the well-being of people living in the regions in which we operate, and discusses the challenges and further opportunities for CSR development going forward.” said Petra Mašínová, Head of Corporate Communication and CSR at NWR.
NWR is currently undergoing a process of adjusting its internal processes in order to ensure that the 2011 Sustainable Development Report for the NWR Group complies with Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, is based on clearly measurable targets and reflects the degree to which these targets were fulfilled during the reporting period.
