NWR KARBONIA S.A. (“NWR KARBONIA” or “the Company”) specialises in the production of coal and other natural resources, and undertakes related geological exploration. The Company oversees two projects in southern Poland – Dębieńsko and Morcinek . It was granted a 50-year mining licence to extract coal from Dębieńsko in 2008, and in 2010 NWR KARBONIA applied for an amendment to this licence. For Morcinek, geological documentation is set to complete at the end of 2011..
NWR KARBONIA Sp. z o.o. was established on June 22, 1999. Entry of the company in the commercial register maintained at the Regional Court in Katowice – 8th Business Register Department VIII as entry No. RHB 16633 was recorded on July 23, 1999. As of February 28, 2011 the company changed its legal status and became a Joint Stock (S.A. in Polish) Company.
NWR KARBONIA S.A. is a wholly-owned subsidiary New World Resources N.V. (“NWR”), one of Central Europe's leading hard coal and coke producers.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Company is Ján Fabián and George Klinowski serves as Vice-chairman of the Board of NWR KARBONIA S.A. and is Chief Operating Officer.
