On December 3, 2011, in connection with the eve of St. Barbara’s Day, NWR Karbonia has celebrated a Day of a New Beginning for the Dębieńsko Mine. The event was started by a Holy Mass dedicated to the miners held in the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Czerwionka. Archbishop Wiktor Skworc has blessed the rebuilt monument to fallen miners and the new St. Barbara image.
